Most fillers you’re familiar with, like Juvederm and Restylane, are made from hyaluronic acid that gradually dissolves in your body over 6-12 months. Bellafill contains tiny polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres that stimulate your skin to produce its own collagen. This collagen rebuilds the internal architecture of your skin so your results last years instead of months.
Most patients are surprised by how comfortable the process is. Bellafill is pre-mixed with lidocaine, a numbing agent that helps minimize discomfort. You might feel a quick pinch or light pressure, but the treatment is generally well-tolerated, and we can apply a topical anesthetic beforehand for extra comfort.
Downtime is minimal. Most people return to work or social activities the same day or the next. You may have slight swelling, redness or tenderness at the injection sites for a few days, but makeup can usually be worn after 24 hours. We’ll give you aftercare instructions to help you heal quickly and enjoy your results.
Because Bellafill works by stimulating your own collagen, the fullness develops in a gradual, natural way. Friends might notice you look more refreshed, but they may not know why unless you tell them. We always start injectables conservatively and build up as needed.
Bellafill is FDA-approved to last up to 5 years. In our experience at Lazaderm, results can last even longer because your skin keeps the collagen it builds. Longevity will vary from person to person, but most of our Chandler patients love knowing they can enjoy lasting confidence without constant appointments.
